As each New Year comes along people make resolutions to lose weight and be more active. A little more exercise to get toned up. But they seldom continue with the ideas for many different reasons. Maybe due to not seeing a fast enough change, not getting support or feeling starved due to not eating healthy.
Employers could help them with their goals by giving them a break time for a short but fast paced walk even to walk up and down a flight of stairs. This not only encourages exercises, it gives them a break from work which is needed to get a fresh start with clearer thinking.
Employees’ work and health balance will increase the bottom line of the business or workplace. Employers should encourage a work-health balance to keep employees well being. A healthy worker is much more productive than one that is not doing their best due to thinking of their health issues.

If a worker is concerned about a health issue it may cause them to have an accident, due to not giving the job all their attention. When someone is thinking I’m fat and need to do something about it, they are not doing their best work. They are preoccupied by how to get in shape, subconsciously getting in shape is first and foremost on their mind. This can lead to an accident and disability claims.
Disability claims in this day and age are high and may be in access of $15,000 annually. Obesity claims last up to 2 months longer than the recovery for a more fit person. The workplace should have an effective wellness plan which encourages everyone to get fit and stay fit. This would save the business a great deal of money and time missed due to health problems.
By reducing or rotating excessive workloads and employer will gain more respect from the employees and they inturn will be more productive. The same is true about allowing time to attend professional classes on getting and staying fit. Employers can gain a more healthy workforce just by giving the workers a paid pass to a gym class.
Employers should lead by example, they should be the first to get fit or quit smoking. They could start by furnishing some healthy snacks or fruits for the workers. Even company meetings could have healthy drinks and fruits instead of rolls or doughnuts.
Smokers should be encouraged to quit. Most work places now are smoke free and the employee that is craving a cigarette is not giving their all to the job they are paid to do. Smokers tend to be more short of breath and if they have an excessive work load they most likely take an extra amount of time doing it. Thus the bottom line for the workplace is smaller.
Obesity, smoking and non healthy workers cost the business world millions of dollars every year. As an employer you should be taking every opportunity to encourage all the work force to get healthy and stay healthy. You should set the example and take a few extra steps to get your workers on the way to a healthy body. Healthy employees lead to increased productivity and decreased disability claims

Fad Diets need to be looked with a wary eye, many of them can and do cause long term health issues. I learned by watching my sibblings struggle with their weight issues.
They would starve themselves for a while. Then really dig in and eat everthing in site.
They would try eating only greens, but soon gave it.
What I learned by watching them yoyo diet is that you need a balanced diet. Fats,carbs, and protiens with only moderate exercise will get you in shape and keep you in shape.

One of the most common New Years resolutions is weight loss. Thousands of people join various diet programs. Some people get on a diet program when they have a special event such as a prom, graduation, wedding or birthday celebration coming up. There are even more trying to lose weight to look good at the beach when summer comes around.
With all the different dieting programs out there picking the one that fits their situation is a big decision. Fad diets are not the answer for anyone. You have to buy special foods, pills, or supplements to continue with their programs. The New Accelerated Diet Plans lets you eat common everyday foods which you select.
Some of the mistakes that people make when picking a diet is picking one that totally or partially leave out foods that are essential to maintaining the body.
Starving the body is a big mistake; the body will react by storing what it needs in the future to keep healthy. This is stored in the form of fat, so starving the body may cause you to gain weight rather then lose weight. The body needs Carbohydrates, fat foods, and protein to stay healthy.
Protein comes from many different sources, meats maybe the major protein source. Veggies also have protein so eating more of them and less meat will contribute to weight loss as well.
Avoiding proteins will cause you to lose weight, but it will be muscle weight not the excess fat you are carrying around. You will become much weaker by avoiding protein in your diet. Proteins can actually help you lose weight; they are harder to digest, so they keep your metabolic rate up for a longer time. With the metabolism working at a high rate it will be burning some fat for you. Proteins also make you feel full for a longer time due to the extra time required to digest them.
Here are a few examples of proteins in foods:
3 ounces of chicken has about 22 grams of protein;
1 cup of yogurt has about 13 grams of protein;
1/2 cup of tofu contains about 20 grams of protein;
2 tablespoons of peanut butter has a whopping 8 grams of protein.
Carbohydrates are not dense nutrient foods for the body, but they are needed in a balanced food intake to keep you healthy. If you eliminate Carbs. you will eventually lose control of your hunger pains and start overeating foods which are higher in fat content. Thus gaining more weight than you may have lost already.
Fatty foods are also needed to help keep you healthy. Fat from oils helps the body absorb nutrients faster and easier. No diet should ever be without fatty foods, carbohydrates, or calories. All three groups have beneficial factors when combined in the proper proportions. By eating the same foods that you eat now but in different proportions you can diet and stay healthy at the same time.
Any diet that does not have the three groups, carbohydrates, fatty foods and protein in them will eventually fail due to hunger spells or cravings for what you are not getting. The New Accelerated Diet Plan is a healthy and nutritional diet plan. It consists of common everyday foods eaten at different times to rev up the metabolism to burn the excess fat stored in your body.
Even celebration days , birthdays, weddings, holidays do not have to be cut out to lose weight. You just need to watch what and how much you eat when you attend them. Resolutions are easily made but most are hard to keep. If you made a resolution to lose weight it can easily be kept by using The New Acellerated Diet Plan. New Years Resolution losing Weight Did you make a resolution to lose weight this year? You
probably did as well as three fourths of the USA did, that’s the round figure the Veterans Affairs say are obese or over weight. We are all eating low fat foods and continuing to gain weight.
Many of us like doing things together, going for walks, sitting on the couch watching TV while snacking on junk foods, and not commenting on how out of shape your partner is. It is not the best thing to say “Honey you are getting fat” but it should be said to save them from the health hazards of being over weight or obese.
Losing weight with a partner is easier than trying to do it alone, because
you will have to meet the approval of not only yourself but the approval of your partner also. You will think twice before having that snack that is off limits as far as weight loss and then try to explain why to your partner.
For some people jobs may depend on them staying in shape. Like a law enforcement person, a fireman, postal workers, etc.. If they are overweight
they are not giving their job the 100% that is required of them. Maybe restricted movements because of fat, or maybe thinking about losing weight rather than thinking about what they are doing. Excessive weight bothers each person differently so it also effects each job differently. But it does effect the performance given by over weight people as compared to in shape healthy bodies.

Fitness Matters: Enjoy journey and experience

This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity to compete again in the Fitness America Pageant in Las Vegas.
There were hundreds of beautiful fit ladies, nearly 600 competitors this
year.
With divisions of fitness, bikini, figure, model, and muscle, women from all over the world came to show their amazing physiques hoping to take home a trophy for all their hard efforts and preparation.
I wish I could say I came home with a trophy, but I can’t. Am I disappointed? You bet I am, but I have to keep it all in perspective. I competed in two categories, bikini classic which is divided by age, 35-44 years old, and looking for a soft, lean fit body, and the figure classic that is a more defined physique but still feminine.
I have to say, I have never seen so many amazing figures all in one place!
Most of us are busy mommies, with careers, hobbies, and excruciating schedules, but manage to put it all together to pursue a passion. It becomes a sisterhood like no other.
We all know the dedication, commitment, and sacrifice it takes to get in the best shape of your life.
There is a place for everyone here, and there can only be one winner, and five ladies in the top five. Even if we don’t make those top spots, what matters is that we gave it our all, and we are our own personal best. By exceeding our own previous level of fitness, we walk away as winners, whether there is a trophy in hand or not.
A subjective sport is tough on the ego and the heart, but what I take away from this experience is what I tell my own clients: “enjoy the journey and the experience.”
We can all relate to that. Whether you are just beginning to pursue your fitness goals or in the heart of it all, you have to see it as a journey. There really is no ending to getting fit. You will have goals along the way, but there will never be an ending. Once you get to where you think you want to be, it’s time to set another goal, whether that is maintenance or another level bove where you are.
Health and fitness is a path, with some destinations and stops along the way. Sometimes there are detours, like family issues, health issues, injuries, etc, that slow you down. Dealing with what is in front of you, and getting back on track as soon as you can will help you maintain your focus.
I know for me, I had some over training issues and needed to take some downtime to let my body recover by getting rest, eating a well balanced clean diet, drinking plenty of water,
and getting deep tissue massages. Taking time off was essential to get past this, but I also knew I was on a tight timeline and felt the pressure to get all my workouts in.
Others had much more serious setbacks. One competitor had the news two weeks ago that her
cancer had come back, but she chose to press on with her passion and deal with the medical issues when she returns home. She is a woman of utter strength and mental toughness.
So the journey continues, and we all return home, and keep working at becoming our personal best. Take pride in what you accomplish with whatever obstacles you may have.
